Description

Butyl Tape creates quick and easy watertight seal in many roofing and building applications. Butyl is a popular method of creating a watertight seal due to its ease of installation, solvent free formula, longevity and large joint movement capability. Unlike bitumen, butyl does not dry out and will adhere to almost any material.

Available in 20mm x 10m rolls.

Butyl Tape is used to bond roofing and building material. It can also be used as an accessory to Wakaflex in complex fitting situations.

  • Sealing metal roof sheets
  • Sealing polycarbonate sheets
  • Flashing maintenance
  • General adhesion and waterproofing

Please note Butyl Tape comes in grey only.

    Butyl tape

Its like a roll of well chewed chewing gum - just don't get it on your fingers! Sticks to old, foil backed 'butyl' flashing thats lost its stick and makes it work again

Great sealant but can be difficult to work with

The canopy on my ute was leaking like a sieve through the windows and I thought I’d tried everything. I was seriously searching for a new one when I clicked on a link that recommended butyl tape for sealing canopies. So, I ripped out the windows, removed the old seals and silicone and resealed the lot with butyl tape. Now it doesn’t leak a drop! I can’t believe how effective it was and I expect it will last several years as it isn’t supposed to dry out like normal silicone. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because i found it difficult to apply around the window curves and if you accidentally stick the tape together, you’ll never get it apart! Regardless, I’m stoked that I can postpone spending 3K on a new canopy!
